Scott Humphries comes from a long line of farmers who have been cultivating the land in Eastern Ontario for six generations. Although excited about traditional organic methods, Scott is interested in fusing these methods with new strategies for better soil health and water management. He was also a member of the Toronto Beekeepers Co-operative.
Emma Sowiak spent her childhood trudging through swamps, climbing mountains, and riding horses through interior BC. She dreamed of being a pioneer as she helped tend the gardens and chickens of her 11-family intentional community. She started exploring farming as a business with Fresh City Farms in Toronto in 2011.
Jasper was born in the summer of 2016 and is our guard dog/farm mascot. Our very friendly pup has a great demeanour and a good bark, he'll be scaring the deer and bears away from our garden. He is a cross between a Great Pyrenees, Golden Retriever, and Mennonite farm mutt. His dad was our friends' dog at Little Trickle Farm.
Together, and with the help of good friends and family, we are meticulously working towards delivery the highest quality food while consistently improving our skills and techniques, as well as the land which we are farming. We are dedicated to strengthening our relationship with the land and community.
